*The Schuylkill Area Community Foundation is home to many scholarships that target students graduating from specific high schools, specific areas of study and student financial need. Each scholarship is unique according to its donor’s wishes, and each offers the opportunity to earn a scholarship for your education. NUREMBERG COMMUNITY PLAYERS SCHOLARSHIP

  • Applicants must be graduating high school seniors who have actively participated in music, theater, or arts in and/or outside of their high school. Special consideration will be given to all applicants who actively participate in NCP activities, fundraisers and/or productions

CAMILLE J. DORN AND HENRY J. DORN SCHOLARSHIP
  • Student must be either pursuing their academic career beyond the high school level or entering the armed forces
  • Students enlisted in the military will be given preferential consideration
  • Student must demonstrate some financial need
  • Consideration will be given for family members who have served in the armed forces. This includes parents, siblings, grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts or uncles who have served in the armed forces of either the United States of America or the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
  • Student must have achieved academic success during their scholastic career at the North Schuylkill School District

  • Any current high school senior who wishes to further their educational development via college, university or trade school.
  • The student must be pursuing higher education for the academic year in which they are applying.
  • All applicants must be an active Gordon Fire Company member or a direct beneficiary of an active Gordon Fire Company member.
  • Applicant must have completed or be willing to complete at least 10 hours of community service for the Citizens Fire Co. #1 – Gordon, Pa.

  • Applicant must be a current active member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Ringtown or St Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Sheppton.

  • Preference shall be given to a member or regular attender of First United Methodist Church of Frackville who is entering the music field or who has been active in the music ministry of First United Methodist Church
  • If no student is a member or attender or entering the music field applies, preference shall be given to a student pursuing a degree in theological studies

  • Current North Schuylkill High School or vocational students graduating in 2018 may apply.
  • Applicant must be attending an institution of higher education in the fall of 2018: two or four-year college or university, community college, business or trade school. Attendance may be part of full time.

  • Applicants must exhibit the strong moral character of a Green Beret

  • Selection will also be based on commitment to the military, GPA, leadership qualities, adaptability, and empathy towards others
